Saved by Grace

Thank you, Mischá, for letting me share this deeply moving story and image.

The scar on Mischá’s left wrist is hardly visible nowadays, but it’s still a poignant reminder of the day she tried to end the pain. One thing saved her, or maybe three.

Mischá has three sons. She loves them beautifully and individually. She sometimes refers to them in descending order of age as her Pride, her Joy, and her Saving Grace. In her darkest days, she unexpectedly learned she was pregnant with her youngest. She couldn’t leave this world while carrying him inside. He saved her.

As is the case with most of my friends’ ink, Mischá’s holds a deeply personal and powerful message. It reminders her daily of the infinite and loving power of Grace.
