Your Faith is Your Wholeness

To the man healed of leprosy, Christ said, “Thy faith hath made thee whole” (Luke 17:19).

To the woman healed of an issue of blood, Christ said, “Thy faith hath made thee whole” (Mark 5:34).

To the blind man who received his sight, Christ said, “Thy faith hath made thee whole” (Mark 10:52).

Showing himself to the priests didn’t heal the leper, but it focused his faith. Christ’s garment didn’t possess healing powers, but touching it focused the woman’s faith. And there was nothing special about the clay Christ used to anoint the man’s eyes, or the water in the pool of Siloam where he washed, but those acts focused his faith. In each case, the power of healing came from within. It’s useful to have items or acts that focus our faith, like oil, crystals, or ceremonies, but it’s more important to remember that the real power is within us. When we understand that, we no longer need the items or acts.

In another ancient text, Enos sought a remission of his sins. A voice said, “thy sins are forgiven thee.” Enos asked how it could be so. The voice said, “Because of thy faith in Christ . . . thy faith hath made thee whole” (Enos 5-8).

Your wholeness doesn’t flow from an external source; it flows from within. Have faith in that.
