Step into Your Power

Moses parted the Red Sea as the Israelites fled Egypt. Thanks to Cecil B. DeMille, most people have a vivid image in their minds. Forty years later, the waters were parted again as Israel entered the promised land.

According to one translation, those who carried the ark were given a promise. “As soon as their feet touch the water, the flow of water will be cut off upstream, and the river will stand up like a wall.”

The ark-bearers reached the Jordan River at flood stage. They trusted and went forward. As “their feet touched the water’s edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing [and] was completely cut off.” Israel passed through on dry ground.

Sometimes, our most glorious rewards require a step into our deepest fears. Only when we step faithfully from our comfort zone will our path open before us.
