Love and Light
From an elevated position, Kathy viewed herself comforting 30-year-old Tayla through her final hours of illness.
Tayla had returned and stood next to her mother to show her a grander perspective. “You have to feel it,” she said.
Despite her inexpressible sorrow, Kathy felt the overwhelming and unconditional love that had filled the room as Tayla had passed. It eclipsed anything she’d ever experienced.
“This is what it felt like,” Tayla said of her transition into the next life. “I wanted you to feel it.”
Tayla came again six months later, accompanied by a beautiful little boy and two infants.
“They’re for Marnie,” Tayla said, speaking of her younger sister.
“Why now?” Kathy said. “Why a boy?”
“Because you need it,” Tayla said. “Dad needs a grandson. Tell him, ‘Happy Father’s Day.’”
When Kathy shared her experience, Marnie insisted she couldn’t be pregnant. She’d tried to conceive for six years and had given up.
A few weeks later, Marnie’s pregnancy test turned positive. A subsequent ultrasound confirmed it was a boy. All evidence suggested she’d conceived three days before Tayla’s visit. And all the clothes Tayla had purchased for the baby she never conceived were for a boy.
At the conclusion of one of her visits, Tayla told her mother, “I’m fine. You need to get out of bed and go do things.” Then she picked up Hugo, her favorite little dog that had passed years before, and walked into the light.
